Requirements 
High School Seniors or Graduates: 
  • All high school seniors or high school graduates who have not attended college must apply to the program by March 15 (early deadline for priority registration consideration), or by the final deadline of June 1 of every year 
  • Minimum of a 3.25 GPA or higher (unweighted) 
  • Successful completion of college preparatory coursework
  • All applicants must be eligible to enroll in English 101; complete the Guided Placement Survey on the GCC Assessment website (go STUDENTS-->STUDENT SERVICES-->PLACEMENT--> ASSESSMENT CENTER) 
  • The application and student grade report form can be found in the "Application" section of the website

Current GCC Students, Students Currently at Other Colleges or Universities, in Addition to the Assessment Exams, Scholars Application, and Student Grade Reports:
  • Must have 2 or more semesters remaining before transfer 
  • Must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA 
  • Must have placed into English 101 ​

Documents Required for all Applicants: 
  • High School transcripts and also College transcripts (if applicable). Unofficial transcripts are fine. A screenshot of your latest GCC Course History is fine.
  • Student Grade Reports, one for each class that must be filled out by your instructors (download the form, which is available in application). If needed, in borderline cases, your application will be put on hold for final semester grades.
  • Letter of Recommendation written by an instructor or counselor--a person who knows your work and potential well 
  • Application Essay 
  • Copy of your GCC Assessment exam scores. Official AP score reports are accepted as well.
